    WHY MINIZOO EXIST

    Minizoo began with a very personal experience.

    As a former top intellectual property lawyer in China, I had spent years working on innovative products and ideas. But nothing prepared me for the challenges I faced as a parent. 

     

    My 7-year-old son started developing a strong attachment to mobile devices. Even with clear screen-time rules, putting the device down often turned into delays, negotiations, and eventually emotional frustration between parent and child.

    OUR CHALLENGE

    Rethinking how children engage with tasks.

    Traditional tools like timers and reminders often focus on supervision and control. While they may improve short-term compliance, they rarely solve the deeper problem: Children complete tasks because they are told to—not because they are motivated to. 

    HOW WE FIX IT

    Minizoo was created to bridge this gap.

    Instead of relying on reminders or pressure, we designed a system where children can: 
    - see time 
    - understand progress 
    - experience immediate reward 
    - and work toward meaningful goals 

    We believe motivation should not come from supervision, but from clarity, structure, and visible achievement.

    Our Vision:  To empower children and educators with simple, effective tools that build focus, confidence, and positive habits.

    A simple, visual, and repeatable positive reward system to naturally guide children toward completing tasks and building habits.

    Minizoo exists to help children turn effort into visible progress, build confidence through small wins, 

    and make daily routines calmer for the adults guiding them.
    We believe children do not need more pressure.
    They need systems that help them succeed.

    1. Validating the Idea

    I shared this idea with Jordan, a top product manager who had previously designed the world’s first 3D VR glasses.
     

    He immediately saw the potential. Together, we refined the concept and validated that this wasn’t just a parenting hack—it could become a real product.

    That was the moment Minizoo stopped being just an idea.

    2. Turning Concept into a Real Product

    We partnered with a leading industrial design team in Xi’an, known for designing high-performance fitness equipment.
     

    They helped transform our rough idea into a physical product—something simple, intuitive, and durable enough for everyday family life.
     

    For the first time, I could actually hold the solution in my hands.

    3. Making It Manufacturable

    An idea is nothing without execution.
     

    That’s where Liang came in—A manufacturing expert who built one of the world’s No.1 cable organizer factories.
     

    He took our design and made it real at scale, completing the first production mold in just 35 days.
     

    This was when Minizoo became not just a prototype—but a product that could reach families everywhere.

    4. Making It Engaging for Kids

    But something was still missing.


    "Function alone doesn’t motivate children—emotion does."

     

    That’s when Coco joined us. She created a full suite of sticker designs, designing 128 unique animal characters that children could connect with, collect, and feel proud of.

     

    This is where Minizoo became more than a tool— it became something kids actually wanted to use.

    5. Building a Brand Families Trust

    Finally, we needed to bring everything together into a clear and consistent experience.

     

    Professor Lee, an experienced brand designer, helped shape Minizoo’s identity—from packaging to visual systems—so every touchpoint felt simple, warm, and intentional.
